Position Opening:
Assistant/Associate Professor of Accounting. St. Edward's University invites applications for a full-time, tenure track position in Accounting to begin Fall 2010. The position on the faculty of the School of Management & Business will be filled at the assistant professor level with salary depending on qualifications and experience. Teaching responsibility will be in the Undergraduate and Graduate Business Programs. This position is posted as a nine-month contract. Salary and rank are dependent upon qualifications.

POSITION INFORMATION:

Courses or subject areas to be taught:
Teach four courses per semester, two semesters per year. Interact with business, government, and/or non-profit community to develop service opportunities for students. Participate in the ongoing development of the Accounting curriculum. Continued development of expertise in teaching areas and pedogogy. Work with colleagues on assessment of learning outcomes and on recruitment and retention students. Advise and mentor undergraduate students.

Academic qualifications:
Ph.D. in Accounting from an AACSB accredited institution.

Experience requirements:
Demonstrated College/University teaching experinece in the areas of Auditing, Financial Accounting, Governmental Accounting and Graduate Cost Accounting at the undergraduate and graduate levels required.
Ongoing research and publication required.
Excellent written and spoken Engligh communication skills required. Excellent interpersonal skills required.
Prior course design at the undergraduate and graduate levels and a commitment to teaching excellence required.
Substantial and progressively responsible industry and/or consulting experinece.
Currently licensed CPA preferred.
Successful completion of an employment and/or criminal history background check required.

Salary range:
Salary and rank dependent upon qualifications.
